My latest theory is that baby Avery has been waiting for me to finish her nursery before she makes an appearance. So today I hung up the cute letters on her wall and now we are all set! The walls are "antique white" and the main decor color is lavendar, with light green as an accent color. You should be able to click on the photos if you want an extreme close-up.
Here are the letters with hanging ribbons from Craft Cuts - I really love how they turned out. Highly recommend this company! (I bought Alex's letters from them, too.)
Here are the letters over the crib. This is our 3rd bedroom that we were using as a den. The door on the left is actually a sliding door that leads to the dining room. The door on the right is the closet. I'm standing in the door to the hallway. At some point we will keep the sliding door closed all the time and stop using her room as a main "walkway" through the house.
Here is Avery's new dresser. The changing pad cover, lamp, basket and boppy cover are all new. I have a soft spot for the soft/chamois fabric and the "minky dots" (you can see on the boppy and the blanket hanging over the crib). Check out the green piggy bank with white dots. Alex has a matching blue piggy bank with white dots in his room. They are adorable!
I tried going with a lavendar valance with white polka dots - not quite sold on it. (edited to add: I totally replaced this valence and took down the plaque thingy next to it. I replaced it with an adorable bow holder... maybe someday I'll take a new picture!)
I was really against pink as a main girl's color for the nursery and clothing, until I saw all the cute stuff at Old Navy - I love this little sweater outfit. And the hat is a white knit with pink trim from Target. Love these!
And last, but not least, some hair bows for my little girl. I bought these from a work-at-home mom - The Bowtique. These bows below are the "itty bitty bows" meant for tiny little babies. She makes bigger ones for toddlers, too. They are sooo cute and great quality.
....and I finally ordered this canvas print for the nursery today, too!

Aah, the room looks really nice, Missy! I love that canvas print.
If you're looking for more stuff to get addicted to while you sit home waiting :) ... have you seen www.etsy.com? It's a site where artists can sell their work, and if you type the words "art, print, children, nursery" or some such into the tag search, you can find some really cute nursery art!
Good luck. I was sure Avery would have decided to be born by now ...
Can you say...
NESTING INSTINCT? :)
Yup, Avery should be here any moment now. A beautiful new baby for a pretty new room. Seems like a perfect "go" to me :)
I can hardly wait!
Emilie - thanks for the reminder about Etsy - I've bought from people there, but forget about searching there when I'm looking for something specific. Did you see they were highlighted on the Rachel Ray show yesterday? ;)
the room looks gorgeous. i actually like the valance. i think it works really well with everything.
